Amsterdam Fashion Week has wrapped for another season — and atelier cappa was proud to return to the runway for the second time.

This September, atelier cappa joined Amsterdam Fashion Week 2026, showcasing a selection of our latest headwear and statement pieces on the runway with Closet.eco, alongside a new generation of independent designers.

For a young Amsterdam-based accessories brand, returning to AFW for a second season marks another special chapter in the cappa story.

From Amsterdam to the Runway

atelier cappa was born in Amsterdam with a simple idea: practical accessories don't have to compromise on style.

Inspired by the city's unpredictable weather, our core collection focuses on waterproof designer hats that combine function with contemporary design. Alongside our rainwear, we create limited-edition veils and statement headpieces that explore a more playful and decorative side of the cappa world.

Every piece is designed in Amsterdam and produced in small quantities with a focus on craftsmanship, thoughtful design and a slower approach to fashion.

Bringing these pieces to the Amsterdam Fashion Week runway gives us the opportunity to show them in a completely different context — moving beyond everyday styling and exploring how cappa can become part of a full fashion look.

Our Second Amsterdam Fashion Week

This season marked atelier cappa's second appearance during Amsterdam Fashion Week.

For an independent brand still at the beginning of its journey, being able to return for another season feels particularly meaningful.

The runway brought together emerging brands and designers through Closet.eco, creating a space for independent fashion and new creative perspectives.

Being part of this environment reflects many of the ideas behind atelier cappa: creating intentionally, producing in limited quantities and celebrating pieces that are designed to be kept and worn beyond a single season.

Beyond the Runway: The Amsterdam Fashion Week Pop-Up

Amsterdam Fashion Week wasn't only about the runway this season. atelier cappa also joined the Closet.eco AFW pop-up in Amsterdam, giving visitors the opportunity to discover, try on and style our pieces in person.

One of our favourite parts was seeing the cappa community bring the collection to life in their own way. From our waterproof hats to statement headpieces, every person styled the pieces differently — and those behind-the-scenes moments continue to inspire how we think about the brand and future collections.

For an independent, primarily online brand, pop-ups are also an important opportunity for us to step outside the digital world and meet the people who wear cappa. Seeing the pieces move from our atelier, to the runway, to our comm

unity made this Amsterdam Fashion Week particularly special.

A More Conscious Approach to Fashion

At cappa, our approach has always been small by design.

Rather than producing large collections, our hats and headpieces are created in limited quantities, with an emphasis on local craftsmanship, considered production and longevity

Our waterproof hats are designed as functional wardrobe pieces made to return season after season, while leftover fabrics from our collections are given another life through selected decorative veils and limited-edition headpieces.

For us, a more conscious approach to fashion isn't about creating more. It's about making each piece with intention.

That made returning to an Amsterdam Fashion Week platform that creates space for conversations around emerging talent and more responsible approaches to fashion especially relevant to us.

What's Next for atelier cappa?

From rainy Amsterdam streets to the runway, seeing cappa continue to grow while staying true to the ideas it was founded on makes moments like this particularly special.

We're grateful to Closet.eco, Amsterdam Fashion Week and, most of all, the growing cappa community for being part of another season with us.

And as for what's next? More rain. More hats. More cappa.
